Delivery delays – Although all our deliveries are made by reputable companies all delivery firms experience occasional problems which may delay the arrival of your order. Please note that we are not responsible for any consequential loss or damages caused by any delays, discrepancies or damage to your shipment and recommend that you take delivery and check your flooring prior to finalising fitting arrangements. We suggest ordering your floor in plenty of time in case of any delivery problems and to allow for the floor to acclimatise for 24 hours in the room prior to fitting. Yes. Our floors are completely waterproof and slip resistant, so they are great for bathrooms. The tiles butt up tightly together and our recommended adhesive creates a watertight bond. For inspiration, check out our Bathroom Flooring Ideas page.
All Harvey Maria floors are suitable for use with underfloor heating. The British Standard for the maximum temperature for underfloor heating is 27 degrees Celsius, which is well within the performance tolerances of our floors and adhesives.
For electric/ mesh systems check with the system manufacturer for suitability with vinyl tile flooring. The heating system should be bedded within an appropriate reinforced fibre smoothing compound/ screed applied to the subfloor (plywood or concrete) and finished with a second smoothing layer to a depth recommended by the manufacturer to insure appropriate insulation. For underfloor heating pipes within concrete, prime the surface and apply an appropriate smoothing compound to a minimum depth of 4mm.
Heating systems should be switched off for 48 hours before and after installation of the flooring, and then brought up gradually to full operating temperature over the following 7 days.
All Harvey Maria adhesives are suitable for high temperature (HT) use.
Our floors are not designed for outdoor use and we don’t generally recommend for use in ‘wet-rooms’ where water drains directly through a floor drain.
Take precautions in rooms that get very hot or cold. The tiles are designed to withstand surface temperatures of up to 27°c (81°f) and should not be allowed to cool below 15°c (59°f).
Note that in areas exposed to strong sunlight surface temperatures may be significantly higher than ambient room temperatures so to avoid damage to unprotected tiles take care to shade the floor from excessive heat and UV light.
Rubber floors require additional maintenance and care. Avoid using in rooms such as hallways and kitchens and where contaminants can come into contact with the floor as permanent surface damage and staining can occur.
The tough, slip-resistant top surface of luxury vinyl tiles make them an extremely versatile and practical choice. Regularly used in busy commercial spaces, they are relatively simple to maintain and by following the cleaning and care will stay looking beautiful for years to come.
Rubber floors are more flexible with more ‘give’ than a vinyl tile, making them wonderfully comfortable underfoot, but they are naturally less resilient and more prone to scratching than LVT flooring and also more prone to damage from fading and staining than a vinyl floor so take extra precautions in areas with strong sunlight such as conservatories or areas with direct access to the outside and where contaminants may come into contact with the floor. For this reason it is often advisable to apply a permanent sealer to rubber floors to reduce risk of damage in both domestic and commercial settings.
The flexibility of Smooth Rubber tiles makes it even more important that the subfloor is completely flat, as imperfections may show through to the surface which can be unsightly and may create wear spots.
There can be some slight shade variation from batch to batch. Your sample may be from a different batch to your order so check for colour suitability prior to commencing fitting. Always quote your batch number if you are trying to match the floor to a previous order.
Most of our stock items are only available as tiles, which are much more durable than traditional ‘lino’ and vinyl flooring on a roll. The tiles are designed to butt up together with no gaps, and our recommended adhesive creates a watertight seal across the whole floor. Our Smooth Rubber collection is available on a roll by special order, so please feel free to contact us if you’d like to find out more.
Yes, we offer a custom printed flooring service where we can print any image onto a floor. Prices start from £80 per square metre with a minimum order of 12 square metres. If you would like to enquire, please feel free to drop us an email with your details and we would be more than happy to advise further.

Yes, we send samples overseas every day. There is just a small shipping charge which will be automatically calculated at the checkout, and sample costs of up to £10 are refundable via coupon code when you place an order over £150.

Use our Room Size Calculator to calculate the size of your room and estimate the number of packs you’ll require. We recommend that you allow 5-10% for wastage. If you need any further advice, please feel free to contact us.
Our floors are on display at your local Approved Retailers throughout the UK. If you’d like to visit our office near Hurstpierpoint, you can see full size samples of most of our range – please call in advance to make an appointment to ensure that someone will be available to help you (Mon-Fri).
Our standard delivery takes approximately 5 working days to mainland UK addresses. Your scheduled delivery date can be found on your confirmation e-mail. If the scheduled date isn’t convenient for you, please contact us as soon as possible and we should be able to amend it for you.
Stock levels vary and we do occasionally go out of stock which may delay the delivery of your order. We use reputable delivery companies but deliveries are never guaranteed to arrive on time.
We suggest that you book your fitter several days after the confirmed delivery date of your order to allow for any possible delays. We do not provide compensation for any costs that you may incur due to the delayed arrival of your order. Remember that your floor will need to acclimatise for a minimum of 24 hours prior to fitting.
Express 1-2 working day delivery can be selected at the checkout for most UK orders. Timed and weekend deliveries are also available on most UK orders for a small surcharge. If you would like to enquire about an upgrade, please contact us once you have placed your order and we will organise this for you.
We recommend that someone is available to sign for your order, so you may wish to have it delivered to an alternative address (e.g. a place of work.) If this is not possible, you will have the option to leave delivery instructions (e.g. if out, please leave in the porch/with a neighbour) which the delivery company may follow if they believe it to be a safe option, although this is not guaranteed. If you do choose not to sign for the goods, please note that we cannot be held liable should your order subsequently go missing for any reason.
Most orders can be collected on request from our warehouse in East Sussex. Please contact a member of the customer service team who will be able to help you with arranging a collection.
Yes, we ship orders all over the world every day, and the cost of shipping your order will be calculated automatically at the checkout. Free samples are also available to overseas customers – there is just a small shipping fee.
We recommend that our floors are installed onto a plywood or screeded subfloor using our recommended adhesive. Detailed instructions and videos are available on our Fitting page. Solid colour, straight edge and flexible floors are more challenging to fit well, whereas patterned, textured and bevelled floors make for easier fitting. In all cases, the smoother and better-prepared the subfloor, the more satisfactory the final finish will be. A trained fitter will usually produce the best results, so ask your local Approved Retailer about their expert fitting service.
We don’t employ any fitters ourselves, but you can find details of your local retailer here. If you need any further information, please feel free to contact us.
Yes, we supply the recommended adhesive which has been fully tested. It is available without any additional delivery cost when purchased with your flooring. We provide a Universal Adhesive suitable for luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) and an adhesive for our Rubber Floors. To purchase please visit our Glues & Adhesives page. All our adhesives are suitable for high temperature (HT) use.
It’s important that you follow the specific cleaning and care advice for your floor. This will keep your floor in great condition and is a condition of the warranty. Our Floor Care Kit will help you to keep your floor clean and protected, and it’s available with free delivery when purchased with your flooring. We also recommend regular sweeping and mopping, and if there’s access to an outside area, a good entrance mat will help trap dirt before it reaches your floor.
Some rubber materials common to rubber matting products, contain compounds (known as antioxidants) designed to extend the life of the rubber and prevent brittleness. Unfortunately, these compounds are susceptible to breaking down over time, producing chemicals that can then bleed into adjacent materials, causing yellowing to the floor, referred to as “antioxidant staining”. To avoid this problem, ensure that any rubber items coming in to contact with the floor for a prolonged period of time (eg, rubber backed rugs, rubber mats, rubber feet, pet bowls) contain only ‘non-staining’ rubber. Suppliers of non-staining mats include turtlemat.co.uk.
The hard wearing top surface of our vinyl tiles has been tested and classed as scratch resistant by industry classification standards, but is not completely scratch proof. Sharp objects can scratch the floor so we suggest taking sensible precautions.
A good entrance mat will reduce grit, sand and stones on the soles of your shoes. Furniture feet should be suitably protected on their base and office chairs should have soft wheels. Your vacuum cleaner should have free rotating wheels and should not be damaged, too hard or contain alien objects that may drag across the floor. Test on a product sample if unsure. Take particular care with rubber floors as the softness of rubber floors makes them naturally more prone to scratching.
We do not recommend the use of steam cleaners or steam mops on Harvey Maria flooring. Instead, our Floor Care Kit contains a range of products designed to clean & protect your tiles. Find out more on our Cleaning & Care page.
Yes. All of our floors are manufactured to a high quality commercial standard and guaranteed to be free of defects for 12 months from purchase. To take advantage of our extended product warranty, including our ‘lifetime’ residential warranty on selected products simply complete the online Warranty Registration. More details here.
You’re free to return your complete order to us within 14 days for a full refund.
But regrettably, individual unused items from your order are not returnable, so instead, we recommend using our online tools to calculate the correct amount or contacting us for some help before ordering, or otherwise, holding on to a spare pack from the original batch can be a good idea in case any become damaged in the future.
We do understand that it can be frustrating if you find you have a spare pack left over. We have previously operated a more friendly policy, accepting the return of any unused items, which seemed like the right thing to do. But over time found that over 80% of returned items couldn’t actually be returned to stock, eventually making the policy unworkable while causing a fair amount of friction for our customers.
We have subsequently invested in our online room calculation and pack calculation tools, and are always available to help advise how much flooring you’re likely to need (simply call or drop us an email at info@harveymaria.com) and also endeavour to make our returns information as clear as possible throughout the website and in all our customer communications.
