We’ve been loving sharing inspiration from some of Instagram’s favourite interior influencers as part of our Creator Takeover. As our autumn renovations begin, we’re sharing ideas for each room in your home for both traditional and contemporary interior styles. This week we’ll be looking at the renovation journey of Amanda from popular blog @theoldforgecottage ‘s bathroom in her beautiful listed cottage.

Amanda documents the progress of renovating her 600-year-old cottage in weekly posts on Instagram, sharing tips, inspiration and an insight into modern country living. The property has an incredible history, so the task of both preserving the authentic characteristics of the cottage whilst bringing it up to date with modern living is a careful balance, where each decision of the renovation process is important. When choosing her flooring, Amanda needed a design that was both chic and timeless, so we recommended our iconic Parquet collection.

The Parquet collection created in collaboration with celebrated UK designer Neisha Crosland features an oversized geometric pattern, reflecting Neisha’s bold style. The eclectic colour palette features contrasting tones and neutrals to complement both contemporary and traditional interiors. Amanda opted for our Parquet Stone colourway, a neutral-toned floor that creates a refreshing atmosphere – perfect for bathrooms! Paired with the clean white panelling and original barn door features, the room is both transformed and true to the character of her home.

“The beautiful LVT flooring was gifted by a company local to us @harveymaria and having never used this type of flooring before it was an absolute dream.” – Amanda, Interiors Influencer

Amanda has paired her new floor with an elegant marble top sink and decorative elements such as candles to add a cosy autumnal feel. This design can be styled year-round to suit the season, and we love how the indoor plants and framed botanical prints create a sense of the outdoors within. Not only does the flooring lend itself to Amanda’s personal interior style, it also creates a sense of space and light, an important consideration in projects such as cottage renovations.
