Investing in the right flooring is a great way to help your business property feel unique, it can bring your brand to life, even in smaller commercial spaces, and create a cohesive style in larger areas. Patterned or coloured floor tiles are a great way to set the tone for your interior design and add personality. This week we put the spotlight on some of our favourite local businesses that have found the perfect floor for their commercial space with Harvey Maria.
Creating a cosy deli for every season –
Our first story comes from @cherrymenlove , owner of Cherry’s Bakery & Deli – a cosy and welcoming space located in the beautiful market town of Petworth. Cherry wanted to create a cosy yet refreshing feel and decided to work alongside interior designer Emma Wood to renovate her new commercial space. Cherry wanted the deli to replicate her modern English country living brand, with lighting and flooring being key investments to make the project come to life. They opted for Parquet Eggshell designed in collaboration with UK designer Neisha Crosland.
The Parquet collection is available in a palette of colourful tones set to a light background that gives an open-plan feel and replicates Neisha’s contemporary style. The eclectic pattern adds interest, creating a statement look that lends itself to both modern and more traditional spaces. Cherry’s choice of the beautiful soft Parquet Eggshell adds to the retro feel of the renovation and contrasts well with the bright red of her iconic logo. We love how it is styled year-round to replicate the seasons, from cosy autumnal fairy lights to colourful festivities (the pale blue reminiscent of the colour of fresh icy lakes) to a bright sunshine-filled spot for the summer months. Our tiles are also designed to be slip-resistant and easy to clean, making them a great choice for high footfall commercial areas.
“Focus on lighting and flooring as I believe that they should be your big investments [before starting a renovation project]” – Cherry
Make an entrance with modern-rustic style –
Our second commercial space comes from Stephanie, owner of Serendipitous Sourdough Bakery in the town of Chichester. Stephanie shares her gorgeous pastries and freshly baked bread of the day on her Instagram feed, with our Northmore Waterhouse Blue tiles featuring as an elegant backdrop to her photos.
The bakery encompasses everything we love about the modern-rustic trend, incorporating our original encaustic tile-inspired design throughout. Dried flower displays and original historic features add to the trad feel, whilst our luxury vinyl floor tiles meet the demands of what has become a busy community hub. The Waterhouse Blue colourway complements the black and white beams of the original building, with the patina tile effect adding texture and detail to give an authentic finish. It’s created a space we definitely would want to keep visiting for our daily dose of comforting homemade goods – especially now the autumnal season is in full swing.
Experiment with colour –
One of Hove’s most popular brunch spots Jo&Co, is a stylish eatery reflecting the owners’ love of travelling and is inspired by their own trips around the world. They have created an eclectic space with bold features such as neon signs, decorative parrot models suspended from the ceiling and rattan lampshades. The bright colours that join each of the rooms of the restaurant really bring the interior together – including trending yellow tones (set to be a firm favourite for 2022!). They have incorporated colour through the use of our patterned tiles, from the deep Dovetail Oxford Blue to the warm Parquet Mimosa. The geometric design of the tiles reflects UK designer Neisha Crosland’s contemporary style and adds to the artistic styling of each zone of the restaurant.
