As the season turns colder we’re looking for ways to bring comfort and cosiness into our homes.  Our ultra-realistic authentic wood planks bring a warm and natural feel – choose a design that suits your style – from luxe Herringbone to rustic natural planks – and add the finishing touch to your new kitchen, living room, bathroom or hallway. This week’s blog will bring you inspiration for how to get your next project started this winter…

Trending looks –

As we are all looking for more long-lasting and versatile designs for our homes, we’ve seen wood-style floors become increasingly popular all over the pages of the top interior influencers Instagram’s this year. One trending style we’re loving is Herringbone – petite planks that create a stylish laying pattern. Our MSeries Hurst Herringbone collection is a great choice for interior lovers looking to replicate the look of traditional Parquet floors in their homes. This is a versatile design that continues to be a popular choice year on year, allowing a chic canvas to get creative with other interior styling elements within your home. The Hurst Herringbone collection is formed of a multi-tonal palette with highly detailed wood grain textures. Inspired by natural timber parquet flooring, the collection brings a luxurious feel to both contemporary and traditional homes.

Getting cosy with modern-rustic interiors –

One of our all-time favourite interior schemes is modern rustic. Combining elements of modern-day styling with classic, casual features create a real homely feel (perfect for the festive season – who doesn’t love a touch of the hygge atmosphere during these colder spells!). This style can easily be achieved through elements such as minimalist decor, natural furnishings and textures as well as utilising the authentic appearance of our MSeries woods floors. We love how Interiors blogger @lifewithholly styled our MSeries Spring Oak Parquet floor in her modern country cottage kitchen, a traditional look with a modern luxe edge brought through from the light tone of the colourway.

Combine pattern and woods –

As the needs of our homes evolve and develop, we’re looking for new ways to make open-plan spaces more multifunctional without compromising the open, sociable feel. This is the perfect opportunity to utilise our pattern floor as it can either be laid in a rug pattern within our wood floors or with a wood border. Creating zones and borders can help to reimagine a space that can be adapted as needed. For example, if you’re working from home why not create a cosy office nook in the kitchen that can be transformed back into a dining table once the weekend rolls around. The floor creates a sense of an area, separating work and family life in this scenario. Not only is this a more practical use of space, but it also doesn’t compromise on style, allowing you to experiment with creative patterns and colour whilst still maintaining a cohesive interior scheme.

Add warmth with underfloor heating –

All Harvey Maria floors are designed to be compatible with underfloor heating. Unlike traditional ceramic tiles and wood planks, all our floors are warm underfoot (say goodbye to freezing toes whilst you wait for your morning coffee to brew) and underfloor heating adds that little extra luxurious feel that you’ll be thankful for during the cold weather months (or year-round if you’re in England like us!). This works perfectly in kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms and hallways alike, the finishing touch to your cosy project. You can find out more about laying our floors with underfloor heating on the FAQ section of our website.

Making sustainable choices –

Sustainability is becoming more and more important to us all. We are starting to choose products and materials that improve our indoor air quality and reduce energy consumption, pollution and waste and we are always looking at ways in which we can invest in products and production processes that are more sustainable. We are really proud that the MSeries collection in particular is recognised for its low impact on the environment in all aspects including production process, product consumption, emissions & indoor air quality and sustainable construction. All Harvey Maria floors contain recycled materials and are themselves 100% recyclable. Harvey Maria supports the industry-wide movement to recycle post-consumer waste.
