Add a sense of luxe to your home

There has been an emergence of a new group of interior influencers on the ever-growing social media platform Tiktok. Spending more time at home inspired many of us to rethink how we were using the space available to us, looking for new and innovative ways to make a tranquil and cosy home. Tiktok saw many influencers sharing different and unique ways to update their space on a budget, from transforming tiny balconies into the perfect outdoor snug, to adding their own personal stamp on galley kitchens through upcycling units with colourful paint. Pinterest predicts luxe utility as a key trend for 2022, and people will give luxurious makeovers to their home’s nooks and crannies. For millennials and Gen X, forgotten spaces will become conversation starters when you have guests over.

An important consideration to any smaller space renovation is where to invest the budget to make the most impact. LVT flooring is a great place to start building your renovation ideas, and by investing in stylish and durable flooring, your style is set to last for years to come. For smaller spaces, we recommend experimenting with pattern and colour, such as our geometric Dovetail collection or floral-inspired Pattern collection. Each collection is available in an eclectic palette of soothing tones to bold splashes of colour to suit any interior scheme.

Experiment with mixed materials

We’re starting to think about the spring/summer months that will be upon us soon, and it’s one of our favourite times of year to host at home. Creating open-plan spaces has long been key to making a more sociable atmosphere. Finding the balance between open and functional space can be achieved through mixing materials. This can be achieved through mixing patterned tile designs with gorgeous authentic wood borders to separate off areas of the room without losing the open feel. This is particularly effective in open-plan kitchens and dining rooms, also allowing you to get creative and go bolder with your choices in terms of pattern and colour. Mix in colour positivity

Colours ranging from warm terracotta and earthy tones to bright yellows and soft pastels were a major trend we identified in last week’s trend blog for 2022. Colour is a great starting point to focus on when thinking about refreshing a room, as it can have a major effect on the ambience, warmth and character. For 2022 we’re looking at more expressive colours that reflect our emotions, as we focus on finding the joy in the every day, with a newfound appreciation for our homes – and being able to rediscover the world outside.

One colour which we’re seeing a lot of again this year, particularly inspired by gemstone tones and used to create contrast with trending monochrome furnishings is green. We have a selection of green-based designs such as Pattern Meadow Green and Parquet Hunter Green. The variety of green tones reflect our love for the outdoors, with natural materials such as bamboo, rattan and reclaimed wood being at the forefront of our decor and furnishing choices, a perfect pairing with green. Additionally, combining colour blocking with monochrome such as our Dovetail Ink Black tiles adds modern elegance to contemporary homes, a great choice for lovers of the editorial glam luxe interior look.
