From fashion to textiles to interiors, checkerboard has been an ongoing trend this year and looks set to continue into the spring and summer months. We’ve reimagined the classic black and white checkerboard floor and introduced warmer tones and pretty pastels – to really bring the check trend into modern homes. From bright and playful Squares Bay Blue, paired with Squares Linen White in a dining nook or boot room, to the brand new Squares Steel which offers a softer take on the monochrome check pattern; we’ve given checkerboard a contemporary uplift.
For a unique twist on the traditional chequerboard, the Check range designed by Neisha Crosland is a great choice; we especially love Check Slate and Check Shadow for a modern spin on the black and white check.
‘Quiet Luxury’ is hard to avoid; continuously trending on social media and with brands everywhere tapping into the term, it’s all about creating a luxurious, gentle aesthetic that uses warm neutrals and natural accents. Our Hurst Herringbone collection is a great place to start when incorporating this style to your home; herringbone flooring is a classic trend which still isn’t going anywhere. These authentic wood-effect mini planks are both elegant and contemporary, and look super luxe in an open plan kitchen and living space with natural accents.
This home trend is also about embracing the natural elements and turning our attention to sustainability. Being eco-friendly is more important than ever, and we’re proud that our MSeries collection of authentic planks is recognised for its low impact on the environment in all aspects – from production process to emissions & indoor air quality. Our hand-crafted designs are made to look and feel like real wood but are much more practical and durable; made to last a lifetime.
With this move towards a more eco-friendly and slower way of life comes a trend for all things vintage-inspired and the blend of modern and antique styles. We’ve seen a renewed demand for heritage patterns and Victorian-inspired floor tiles; something that our Walbrook collection and bestselling Northmore reflects perfectly.
Authentic patina and rich historical tones give a stylish look when paired with darker walls or wood panelling. We’re seeing more of our customers embracing eclectic colours and patterns when it comes to choosing their flooring, which are then being paired with a more neutral decor. The Lattice range takes inspiration from the outdoors with a delicate, artisan design that offers fresh hues such as Tarn and Cornflower Blue; whimsical and heritage in perfect harmony.
